Joe Harris is pretty sure a wonderful career awaits, no matter where life takes him. And many observers and friends would say the George Washington all-state football player, and state track and field champion, is headed for the professional ranks. "I do want to play in the National Football League; that would be awesome," said Harris, who has committed to the University of New Mexico to play football. "But I do know that is a rare chance." The focus for Harris, though, during the next few weeks will be on trying to repeat as the Class 5A state triple jump champion and to help the Patriots win their second consecutive state team title. "Joe has been one of those kids at the head of his class as an athlete and student leader since he was a freshman here at GW," Patriots coach Richard Nye said.
